August Winds

August has memories, sun splattered days, surfing, and movies. I’m being inducted into the San Diego Tennis Hall of Fame this Saturday, August 24. I’ve written a speech. I’m staying at Bill Kellogg’s La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club. Angel Lopez, my long time childhood coach, and my childhood sparring partner, Ryan Redondo pushed my nomination through on a Board that had previously overlooked my accomplishments. I didn’t play a lot of juniors in my hometown – mostly I played in Los Angeles – the corridor through to Bakersfield. San Diego, my growing up years, my school years, are all part of the August winds and memories. Photos to come, with my speech!
